Japan is well known for its ability to adjust technology for practical and commercial purposes in the later phase of the product life cycle with the goal of increasing corporate profits. This article analyses the impacts of foreign technology transfer on japanese culture as well as the other way around. Japan always, by itself, selects foreign culutral values, and after a certain period of scrunity, adopts only those needed for achieving its economic development goals.
