There are seven trends mentioned which will shape the context for pacific rim integration. So far, the pacific rim has been evolving whereby, economic and social relations among its members are rapidly intensifying with certain patterns of economic growth, policies and institutions. The rules of america and japan in promoting growth, development and integration of the region is regarded as being of great importance. In the last section, the writer provides some concluding remarks stating that a free trade orientation must be adjusted when facing governmental and cultural constraints in asian markets.
