Isi artikelBusiness intelligence (BI) is now becoming an important strategic tool for business management. BI refers to skills, technologies, applications and practices used to help a business acquire a better understanding in commercial context. Data mining is one example of BI decision-support technique which involved the process of discovering the meaningful correlations, patterns, and trends of large data stored in database. Mostly, the existing BI modules are commercial and expensive to apply. Recently, the open source community has improved the quality of its software, making it more enterprise worthy. MySQL is a relational database management system (RDBMS) which has widely used to develop enterprise application. MySQL supports stored procedure, which is a procedure that is stored on the database server. This procedure then could be invoked by application programs thus eliminating the complexity in its development phase. This research presents the development of BI modules in term of data mining using the function of stored procedure in MySQL. As the result, there will be some procedures embedded inside MySQL and it will help the user in carrying out data mining processes. The BI modules have been tested to solve some MBA problem and it performs better in overcoming the problem.
