Isi artikel
Production activities in a make-to-order manufacturing systems are based on the characteristics of customer order that usually include production time, product quality or production cost. Off-line and online quality controls are needed to assure the quality of product design and manufacturing process. Accordingly, these include prevention and appraisal costs, which are known as cost of conformance. This paper is aimed at optimizing process selection including product design and all manufacturing processes that consider cost of conformance. The optimization model is composed of design cost, prevention cost, manufacturing cost, loss of quality, inspection-correction cost, and finishing cost. The model is implemented in a make-to-order manufacturer producing crimper, a part for candy packaging. Using the data from this manufacturer, the model is solved using LINGO v_9.0. The result is used as a basis for calculating tolerance limit as a measure of quality and production time as a measure of delivery time.
