Key areas of interest included issues of control, decision making, organizational learning, and inter - organizational relations. An investigation of 17 firms concluded that IT may enhance and / or exasperate standard organizational routines and that the positive and negative attribute of IT stem from characteristics of both the technologies involved and the organizational contexts in which they were applied.
