Both foreign and domestic companies suffered huge losses. Unlike local firms, however, foreigners could turn to International Center for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) - a World Bank body that conducts arbitration between businesses and governments - for compensation. Dozens filed cases. Argentina has done well at ICSID, winning six of the ten resolved cases. A dozen more claims have been withdrawn. But the awards it has lost amount to $400m.
