Isi artikel
Spending on national defense is a good example of impure public goods where one country's supply of international public goods need not be a perfect substitute for another country's supply. This feature may reflect some realities in international defense alliances involving Japan and the United States. Our examples of international defense alliances suggest that if the impure public good is provided non - cooperatively, paradoxical results may occur because of the direct and indirect externality effects of defense.
