The administrators Office in Kalibaru seaport is one of the Technical Implementation Units of Directorate General Sea Transportation, Ministry of Transportation which has the obligation of carrying out the shipping safety functions, among which are to supervise the sea worthiness of ships passing in the territorial waters of Kalibaru Port. The supervision conducted by the Administrators Office of the Kalibaru Port to those ships should be in the sea-worthy condition before they leave for the next ports to visit. The sea-worthiness absolutely must be fulfilled by any ship, in order to operate safety, securely, quickly, orderly, smoothly, conveniently, and efficiently. This study aims at exploring the process and mechanisms for monitoring implementation to the sea worthiness of ships and to know its efforts and obstacles. The method used in this research is a qualitative method. The population in this research are the officials and executive staffs at the Port Kalibaru Administrators collection techniques used is fieldwork and library research. The result of this study shows that there are still some deficiencies on the implementation of the sea worthiness supervision on motor ships in Kalibaru Port, such as lack of expert supervisory officers and the understanding and awareness of the crew about the importance of safety on ship.
