Food is one type of natural disasters that often occur during the rainy season. It need to get serious attention, because the frequency of occurrence is very high, causing both life and material losses inflicted on human life. The objective of this pape is to examine the appeal of global rainfall data based on remoted sensiong is available in 'real time' to monitor flood prone areas in south Sulawesi. The survey was conducted in West Sulawesi during 2006. The results showed that the fluctuations of rainfall data and TRMM Qmoph have the same temporal pattern but the intensity is different.
