Isi artikel
Cue repetition can interfere with cued recall (Overton & Adolphson, 1979). In two experiments we showed that in agreement with a contextual change hypothesis this effect is reduced when the interval between the repetition of the cue and the test is lengthened. Contrary to this hypothesis, there was no increase in interference when the interval between studying the pair and the repetition of the cue was increased. The relationship between the cue repetition effect and other interference effects is discussed, and it is argued that cue repetition is potentially a very useful procedure to investigate interference.
