Utilization of food sources are generally the same for staple food from one area to another, but a variety of alternative foods including fruit plants. Preservation of fruit plants have been conducted since the kingdom of Sultan Iskandar Thani in Aceh. All kinds of fruit that begins with the title boh in the Acehnese language, which means fruits, without sorting out whether the fruit is include in the category of fruits or vegetables. The writing is aimed at exploring local knowledge regarding the classification of people of Aceh fruit plants. The method used in this paper is the study of literature. It can be concluded that: (1) Naming fruits by the people of Aceh can not be separated from the main feature of which is attached to the fruit. utilization of fruit plants by the people in Aceh is not only as a food source, but also the source of the drug. (2) Traditional classification of fruit plants made .'3f.'3fby different people with scientific classification. Traditional botanical knowledge of plants of fruit in general is useful for the development of botany, in particular can be one strategy that will accelerate the results of scientific studies.
