Isi artikel
In the context of a course on reflective writing for professional practitioners, Brenda Landgrebe presented two pieces of work which show that dying patients are not simply supported by carers but that patients can teach their carers about the qualities required for an acceptance of death. Richard Winter, the course tutor, suggests some of the general implications of these pieces concerning the role of writing in action research, namely: the value of the story format, and the function of writing both as a way of coming to terms with experience and as providing the confidence with which to challenge accepted theories and to envisage agendas for further learning.
