This study attempts to explore television talkshow viewing i.e its exposure and effects on audience. A survey (intercept mall survey) with 125 respondents was undertaken in the City of Surakarta just six weeks after the election day of the 2009 Indonesia's legislative election. The study suggests that respondents mostly watched talkshow television three times a week and thought moderately that talkshow television is interesting enough seen both from presenters as well as speakers performance and skill. Further, this study also suggests that the cognitive effect i.e the increase of knowledge on on political parties vision-mission becomes apparently the major effect followed by the increase knowledge on candidates performance. Talkshow viewing moderately affects respondents preference of political party and/or candidate (in term of affective influence) and affects moderately as well on respondents behavior primarily in deliberating which political party and/or candidate should be supported.
