Isi artikelDemocracy and mass media are two unseparated coin sides, they need one another, real democracy is always followed by media freedom to spread broadcast and investigate state government. So, it is not amazing if media is always called as the forth guard of democracy pillar. Indonesia, after Soeharto regime characterized as a failed oritarian, mass media acts as if found its oxygen, mass media which was dared to watch and investigate good government becomes impudent, there's no more censors such as Information Ministry whose power to kill mass media. Its impudent to government is its characteristic, but how it act to the owner of media, should they be impudent, how impudent when they face the capitalistic power whose potential to stifle the flow of information which right and needed by the people, if an Soeharto era, media were afraid of the arbiter, then how are they after Soeharto era? Those question will be discussed in this article.
