Minangkabau has its local wisdom in ruling itself based on "custom/tradition is founded upon Islamic law, Islamic law is founded upon the Qur'an, Islamic law dictates customs/traditions, and the existing of the world has to be become a teacher. The purpose of this writing is to give the information about social leadership called "Tungku Tigo Sajarangan" or the leadership of three pillars that refers to tradition leaders, muslim religious teachers or leaders, and intellectuals. The data are collected through library study and direct obseNation to the implementation process of the leadership of three pillars It is concluded that the leadership of the three pillars has obligations to manage their people to follow Minangkabau customs based on Islamic teachings. This social leadership of the three pillars must be supported by all Minangkabau people in order to help them to materialize their obligations holistically, effectively, and efficiently in developing Minangkabau as integral part of Indonesia.
