Isi artikelPreliminary research found that material cost used at plastic bottle industry was very significant that reach more than 60% of total cost. Recycle material can be found and available in the market with substantial lower price but naturally with lower quality than virgin material. Research was done through trial method with some mix material between recycle and virgin material, to find out how much recycle material can be used, on condition that bottle quality is still accepted and physical defects are not more than limit determined by AQL. The research was continued with T- Test to detect whether additional crystallization process on the material before use could increase the percentage of recycle material that mix with virgin material significantly and reduce amount of physical defect. It was found that recycle material used can not more than 20 % of total material, while cost efficiency could achieve 11.8 %. Crystallization process that increase the production cost could be eliminated, as shown there is no significantly difference between the output of those using pre- and post- crystallization process of the recycle material.
