This study analyses two applications, which are 12 Tenses and Learn English Grammar on English grammar teaching. The purpose of this study is to investigate how both mobile applications will be implemented in an English grammar teaching by analyzing their features, strengths and weaknesses. In order to attain the data, the researcher used two analysis chart instruments which are for analyzing both applications’ features, strengths & weaknesses. The contents of the charts are adapted from Brown, H. D. (2001) and Cherner, T et al., (2016) which will discuss about two aspects. Those aspects are instructional aspect and utility aspect. The instructional aspect focuses on features that specifically discusses the grammar teaching, while utility aspect on the other hand will discuss the overall features of both applications. Each aspect has its own criteria for the researcher’s analysis. The study was conducted using content analysis method, where the researcher did an analysis of both applications and used the analysis data from the applications’ features, strengths and weakness to gain the findings and later discuss them in further discussion. Based on the result of the analysis, it was found that both applications can be implemented for an English grammar teaching with suggestions on how to implement them with their own unique features and present strengths and weaknesses. |
