Abstract
Grammar is still considered a branch of lesson that is difficult to be mastered by students, especially Passive Voice. With the structural difference between passive voice in Indonesian and passive voice in English, students become more difficult to understand it. Various teaching methods have been used to make the passive voice teaching more effective, but the fact proved they have not been able to solve this problem. Using song lyrics as a teaching medium could be a new solution to increase the effectiveness of passive voice teaching. This study has explored how effective the use of song lyrics as a medium to teach passive voice to students and whether the song lyrics method was more effective than the regular passive voice teaching methods that have been used so far. This study was conducted with the Experimental Study method. 11th grade students of SMAN 4 Jakarta were included as participants in this study. This study used Pre and Post-Test as the tools to gather the data. The results were the passive voice teaching method using song lyrics was very effective to use, even more than the lecturing method.
