Abstract
The importance of Eyeglasses is increasing in present day. According to WHO, at least 1 billion people in the world has vision disorder. Beside as an aid to vision, it’s also becoming a trend. The paper consists of selecting the best eyeglasses design that captive people’s emotion with Kansei Engineering approach. Every individual has different responses toward a product design but in cognitive process of shopping, women are more likely to shop under affective states than men and the odds of women suffering vision disorder are also higher. As the uses of eyeglasses started to progressive at age 15 to 24 years, the purpose was to identify kansei words and translate them into real eyeglasses design that is desired by Teen Girls in Jakarta. One hundred teen girls had contributed to this study by comparing 16 kansei words including Modern, Elegant, Casual, Beautiful, Comfortable, Attractive, Good Quality, Aesthetic, Trendy, Light Weight, Practical, Durable, Affordable, Strong, Fit to Hand and Ergonomic against 10 eyeglasses pictures. Data Mining was applied to find the connection between the whole appearance of eyeglasses and emotion’s captured in shorter amount of time. In this experiment, decision tree classification and association rules technique were achieved with Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis (WEKA) resulting a pair of eyeglasses with Round Shape, Titanium Material, Light Colored, Full Frame and Plain Surfaces was suggested for companies and designers to be propagate
