Abstract
The development of the newest technology on AC (Air Conditioner) now is an additive to a refrigerant substance that useful for improving the performance of AC. This improved performance can be seen from the comparison of the AC COP (Coefficient of Performance) and EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio). On this study, the AC that is used is 1 PK AC split and the additive substance that being tested is an additive for refrigerant R22. The parameters considered in this study is the ability of the AC to cool the room within a certain period of time and the power needed to turn on the AC during the study. The results showed an increase in COP of 15% from the comparison of AC using additives and that not using additives. From the results of the study, can also be seen the effect of oil fouling to the performance of AC.
