Isi artikelResearch on the application of gamma-rays radiation from Co-60 in order to preserve foods have been performed. In this research, we use chili powder with parameters: distance variations and irradiation time. The research results showed that 1 gram of irradiated sample with 25 cm in distance from radiation source and irradiation time 15 minutes, 60 minutes, and 120 minutes can reduce 35%, 70%, and 90% microbe concentration respectively. For 45 cm in distance from gamma-rays source with irradiation time 15 minutes, 60 minutes, and 120 minutes can reduce microbe concentration 6%, 29%, and 89% respectively.
