Whether or not to relocate the capital city of Indonesia, is not an easy choice. On the one hand, problems facing the capital which is also the primary city of Indonesia, are unbearable, not just because of too many unnecessary lost of time and energy worn-out, but also the probability of agonizing psychological anxiety suffered every single day by every single person living in or passing by it. On the other hand, relocating a capital city is gigantic effort in term of money, time and energy spent, and more importantly in term of shifting spatial development paradigm or political mindset. In general, pro-relocation argued that eventually a megalopolis would leads to necropolis, the city of dead a term coined by Mumford (1961). However, the cons, such as Hall (1966), argued that human intelligence and human imagination would endure even the biggest challenge of mega-cities of the world (the world cities) life. Considering the global warming threat, and the fact that Indonesia is blessed by having abundance and better relocation site for a capital city however, it is better to antcipate the probability of facing a catastrophic disaster in the near future by relocating the capital city of Indonesia. Moreover, the relocation can also be seen as a spatial development paradigm shift from "inward" to "outward, out of Jawa-centered" to boost up the development gaps would be minimized, not to mention that the benefits of relocating the capital city would outweigh its costs, economically, politically as well as psychologically.
