Isi artikel
This article deals with some of the problems surrounding the transfer of knowledge from western experts to indonesian counterparts. Although the emphasis is here on theoretical reasoning, this by no means excludes a practical application. The case - studies illustrate that here in indonesia the process of transferring knoweldge is often ineffective and unprofuctive, and even in some cases counter productive. What results from this is, among other things, a loss of confidence in HRD - investment. In this article it is shown that the indonesian concept of "knowledge", and a corresponding way of thinking, are not beneficial to initiate innovative solutions that are required nowadays. In order to encourage better return on HRD - Investments, we need to start from a new perspectives, a new "mindscape". This paper thus not only reviews some of the current problems in the field, but offers new ideas that might stimulate creative solutions regarding effective cross - cultural transfer of knowledge.
