Isi artikel
This paper is based on a study of technical alliances in 51 semiconductor firms. A technical alliance is defined as a collaboration with one or more firms to develop new technology or to combine technology in a new way. The study attempts to identify the predictors of technical alliance performance. It does this by examining how a firm's competitive strategy and its level of involvement with technical alliances are related to the problems and benefits the firm encounters and its overall success with technical alliances. Hypotheses are developed and tested. Both strategy and technical alliance usage by a firm are important predictors of technical alliance performance.
