Isi artikel
Many of the studies on the knowledge, attitudes, and practices in the field of family planning reveal that often what people say in the attitude surveys is inconsistent with what they actually practice. These inconsistencies are more pronounced in the data of modernizing countries, where the problem of the population explosion is most pressing. This paper deals with the nature of the observed inconsistencies, examining them in terms of various social-psychological theories, with attempts to identify their origin and significance. It is concluded that favorable attitudes toward family planning is not a sufficient condition for the adoption of fertility control practices
