Isi artikelEYL class activities must benefit the children with fun language activities-based learning. One of activities-based learning that is suggested is discovery learning. Learning through discovery is fun and children like to do it as an experiment and a new experience for them. The objectives of discovery learning are such as to review vocabulary and sentence structure, to practice pronunciation, to develop the ability to cooperate, to sharpen the brain activity and to train student to be a “little scientist”. Cooperating is one of good values that the students can show as part of character building. Times flies, thought bubbles, color craze, boats that float, melting magic, water magnifiers, sound off!, let the sun shine in, cause and effect, and gravity games are the examples of experiments. As filler in language learning, the activities must be carefully prepared. The brain-based activities for EYL class which promote discovery and character building are put in pre-activities, whilst-activities, and post-activities.
