| In Indonesia, textbooks are used in almost all subjects in school, but not all of teachers use textbooks in their classes. Some Teachers do more classroom activities instead because textbooks will decrease the students’ involvement in class (O’Neil, 1982). Despite being rarely or not used in some school subjects, textbooks are seen as one of the most important teaching aids in English subject, especially in some countries that see English as a foreign language like Indonesia. Not only becoming a knowledge source for students, but it also becomes the information source for students to know about society, culture and how to communicate properly (Otlowski, 2003)...... |
