This paper aims at intruducing an alternative model for developing English for specific purposes (ESP) materials on the basis of the issue of character building values in Indonesian contexts. The writer will firstly introduce the current issues of ESP in Indonesian universities and secondary schools. Secondly, the writer will discuss the main points of this paper, how to figure out character building moves in developing ESP materials. Some sample materials will be given in the third part of this paper. Next, the possible implications will be given. At last, this paper will be concluded with a final statement that figuring out character building issues in developing ESP materials are paramount.
