The data were collected by using questionnaires and document review. The questionnaires were used to find out the communicative tasks and skills performed by the graduates of English department. Document review was aimed to investigate whether the writing lesson plans used in English Department have reflected the communicative tasks and skills performed by the graduates of English Department. The data were then analysed and presented. At this stage, it can be said that the writing lesson plans used by English Department have accommodated some of the needs of English graduates in performing writing tasks in their jobs. However, it is still necessary to conduct a similar research with more respondents from various occupational background in order to have a more comprehensive description.
