Isi artikel
One who concerns with character building of the nation will think of how an English teacher plays his/her role to give significant contributions on it. As a teacher of a “foreign” language, he/she is sometimes thought as the agent of western norm and value. On the other hand, he/she has his/her own teaching learning problems dealing with the fact that the target language he/she teaches is not the language spoken daily, meaning that the students do not have sufficient language input for their learning. The fact does not, of course, support positive language teaching and learning atmosphere. This paper is used to share and discuss what the English teacher can do to develop his/her teaching to provide maximum language input for his/her students and to contributes significantly to the building of the nation character as well.
