Isi artikelOpportunities for peer interaction and pro-social action can help students to develop their self control, increase their moral and social understanding and concern for their fellows. This paper attempts to argue for the application of cooperative learning in developing students’ opportunities for peer interaction. Based on some psychological research, it has become clear that peer interaction is a powerful and effective vehicle to promote students character development. Some elements in cooperative learning strategy, especially in English Education, can also develop a positive image of oneself and others, to provide a vehicle for critical thinking and problem solving, and to encourage collaborative social skill.
