And people should speak in English to communicate with other people from another country. Furthermore, acquiring the language is very important not only spoken but also written language. In this occasion the writer wants to know the ability of the students writing a paragraph. The ability of the second semester students of English Education Department Kanjuruhan University of Malang in writing paragraphs was still unsatisfactory. The students were unable to express their ideas in a good paragraph. They made many mistakes in their writing in terms of content, organization, and vocabulary. To overcome this problem, the writer proposed one of the appropriate strategies in the teaching English writing by using facebook. Since facebook is very popular among the students, then the writer is interested to use facebook as the media for teaching writing, it purposes to motivate the students to write more and more, because the students can express their idea freely through this media.
