Isi artikel
This paper examines the relationship between some aspects of family life and differential involvement with marihuana. Data are based on a survey of 1700 youths, aged 15 to 18, who live in an affluent suburban community and who attend the local public high school. Results point to a negative association between degree of involvement with marihuana and: (1) availability and quality of parental models for behavior, (2) high evaluation and amount of recognition received within the family, (3) perceptions of the family as warm and not simply rigidly controlling and/or indifferent, (4) subjective feelings of satisfaction and involvement with as well as the ability to rely upon the family as a unit
