A "positive" validity check of women's reported coital behavior can be made by microscopic search for sperms in urine collected daily from women making the sexual reports. Positive microscopy reports can be compared with the woman's coital report. A trial of this technique with a sample of women revealed high concordancce of sperm sightings with reports of coitus within the previous 48 hours.
