This study was focused toward gaining knowledge and a deeper understanding of the personal, verbalized aspirations of a group of low-income moth"s living in Anne Arundel County,Maryland. Thirty-two rural and urban mothers were personally interviewed to ascertain their aspirations; their perceived status, problems, blocks to progress;and their solutions to these problems and blocks. Results showed that these mothers were not satisfied with their present conditions, that they wanted a better life for themselves and their children, and that their aspirations are realistic.
