Isi artikelIndustrialization and ideology have combined to change the structure and the functioning of the Yugoslav family with dramatic rapidity in the past two decades. Not only have relationships within the family changed, with marked modification of traditional patterns, but the family interacts in many new ways with other social institutions, notably school, church, and state. Study of the family has not kept up with these phenomena, and little is offered by Yugoslav scholars in the way of descriptive or normative family sociology, although some tentative beginnings may be discerned.
