Abstract
The development of modern technology in motor vehicles would help to improve power, torque and gas emissions. One of modern technology developments in motor vehicles is injection system, which is changing the conventional system that using carburator. Electronic Control Unit (ECU) will help fuel injection system by giving accurate data to make combustion better and also to reduce engine’s emissions. ECU will give order to engine by giving pulse signal to control injection system in delivering fuel to combustion chamber. The longer ECU send signal pulse, the longer injector will be opened. On this study, fuel injection pulse width has been changed into 5% and 10% shorter; 5% and 10% longer. Indonesian market fuel was used in this research, RON 88, RON 92 and RON 98. Using fuel injection pulse width 5% shorter than standard configuration would increase power and torque on RON 88 and 92. Varying fuel injection pulse width on RON 98 would decrease its power and torque. Emission test was also performed to get emission test result and to analyze engine power and torque results. On emissions test result, RON 92 fuel produced worst emissions and particle distributions
