Abstract
Increase of Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUV) popularity become the reason why UUV design using yellowfin tuna as nature inspired basis is done. This UUV design begins with tuna propulsion due to it’s power eficiency advantage. Propulsion in this research is based on tuna fin oscillation. This undergraduate thesis aims to determine frequency and amplitude parameters effect to tuna fin oscillation in gaining swimming power. Research done by 3D model simulation using ANSYS Fluent program. Simulation performed using frequency and amplitude parameters with sea water medium with constant velocity at U = 7,355 m/s. The increase of frequency and amplitude are inversely proportional to the increment of swimming power. Tuna fin motion generate negative thrust. Swimming power affected by ???? value that tuna fin motion produces.
