Isi artikel
A "hire American" provision added to the U.S. stimulus bill is leading investment banks to rescind job offers to talented immigrants. The stimulus plan effectively forbids banks that have taken Troubled Asset Relief Program money from hiring foreign workers who require visa sponsorship."There is no need for companies to hire foreign workers...when there are plenty of qualified Americans looking for jobs," Hrassley said at the time. The legislation will be in place for two years, says Charles Kuck, president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association."These rules make hiring [foreigners] a real pain, so Grasslesy's getting what he wanted," says Kuck.
