This study aims to gain the characteristic of temperature distribution when Direct Heating System being heated, also analyze the performance of Direct Heating System heater. The experimental method is used, by using thermocouple that applied in several different point of Direct Heating System heater from the inner side through the outter side of the the body. The result of the characterization was there appeared to be difference in the temperature between the inner side that close to the coil through the outer body. The outer side of the body gets the lower temperature. This happened because of the isolator that holds the heat to go out of the inner side of Direct Heating System heater. The isolator was Ceramic Brick Fire. This brick is a ceramic – based brick that usually use to isolate the furnace. The highest heat transfer is happened in the highest temperature of the test result, which is when the heater reached the maximum temperature. This happened because the higher the power given to the coil, the temperature will also get higher. This thing increased the temperature in the inner side of the heater so bigger amount of heat will be transferred to the whole part of the body. |
