Isi artikel
After three decades of Japanese-style management stopped sizzling, McDonald's Japan has slowly taken on an American flavor. In 1971 McDonald's agreed to let a bag and shoe importer, onetime billionaire Den Fujita, build its first golden arches in Japan. Opened in the chic Tokyo shopping district of Ginza, that first restaurant took the Japanese, who then still munched fish, rice, and noodle dishes, by storm. The fast-food industry has since ballooned into an $80-billion-a-year market.
