This research is aimed to encourage the government to make appropriate policies for the batik industries in Indonesia, so that the batik products which are going to be exported to the European Union can acquire the EU-Ecolabel and can eventually be marketed there with the label. This is a qualitative juridical normative study, conducted by using secondary data which consists of legal primary materials, legal secondary materials, and legal tertiary materials. Those materials are collected by using the method of literature review. It is expected that the result of this research could represent the aspirations of the batik enterpreneurs and the European people. Thus several interviews and observations are carried out in Indonesia, the Netherlands and Germany. According to this research, the Minister of Industry needs to make policies such as: 1) Ministerial Regulation concerning Revision of Batikmark Regulation by inserting the SNI (Indonesian National Standard) of Natural Dyed Batik Tulis, SNI of Natural Dyed Batik Cap, and SNI of Natural Dyed Batik Kombinasi in the Batikmark Regulation; 2) Decree concerning Establishing of Association of Ecolabel-Batik Enterpreneurs; and 3) Ministerial Regulation concerning Financial Assistance in Application of the EU-Ecolabel for SMEs. |
