Abstract
As with other power plants, nuclear power plants are also not free from the risk of accidents. One of the most notorious nuclear accidents is the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear explosion incident which is a series of tool failures, nuclear melting and radioactive release at Fukushima 1 site after the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011. One of the concept of a continuous safety sistem developed today is a passive safety sistem. This passive safety sistem is also developed in BATAN (National Nuclear Power Agency) especially at Nuclear Reactor Safety Technology Center (PTKRN), named Structured Passive Simulation Sistem Facility (FASSIP).The one is used for this research is the Pre FASSIP 02 which aims to analyze the important parameters before the making of FASSIP 02. One of the parameters in this Pre-FASSIP 02 is the fluid flow rate, especially the fluid flow rate in the pipeline. The present study aims to characterize the flow rate that occurs based on changes in termperatur in the heating tank by using CFD. The result of fluid flow velocity obtained using CFD is 1.14 x 10-1 m / s, while based on calculation formula (2.5) worth 1.5 x 10-1 m / s.
