Abstract
Indonesia is an archipelago state where most of the area are surrounded by sea. That makes sea lane method of shipping is very important in Indonesia. Most of the sea lane shipping are using container. However, there are not so many research done about this topic. That’s why this research are going to develop a mathematical model of container assignment that can be customize with the shipping route by a linear programming method. Linear programming method are used to obtain a minimum cost value of container assignment. The minimum cost value obtained is used to minimize a logistic cost so we could also reduce the cost difference.
This research consider the ship capacity and port capacity constraint on mathematical model calculation for the container assignment. A calculation sample are done to explain the mathematical model on this research. That calculation sample are done with PT. Tempuran Emas Tbk. shipping route. PT. Tempuran Emas Tbk. is one of the largest container shipping company in Indonesia. There are five skenario of mathematical model implementation in this research. Result shown that four out of five solution are visible. The visible solutions are from the first until fourth skenario and the one that is not visible is from the fifth skenario. Furthermore, this research also calculate the dual problem as a validation of the mathematical model and sensitivity analysis to know the impact of parameters changing towards the objective function.
