Abstract
Retail business in Indonesia continues to grow, directly proportional to the needs of the increasingly large Indonesian people. Retail companies must be able to overcome the demands of the large Indonesian people, one way is by good warehouse management. One of the requirements of a good warehouse management must be able to plan product placement well. Good product placement is marked by an organized process of product retrieval and placement. Therefore, a good product arrangement is needed at retail warehouses in Indonesia. This study aims to design product placement in retail warehouses so that the process of taking goods has a low distance. This research was conducted at a retail warehouse company PT. X. The method used is the method of warehouse placement design using shared storage. This study uses an unbalanced static shared storage method, where the data obtained in the form of the number of products entering and leaving, product schedules in and out. Based on this data, the duration of stay (dos) is calculated which will be needed in determining the location of the product in the warehouse. This study produces mathematical models used in determining the lowest distance. Based on the calculation, it was found that the distance traveled for 1 month was 25401.7m.
