Isi artikel
This article describes the attempts made by one teacher, with the help of a supportive colleague, to deal with difficulties created by the recruitment of a large number of pupils into a Year 9 class. Initially, the teacher attempted to change the behaviour of the pupils by asking them to reflect on a videotaped teaching sequence. When this attempt failed the teacher changed his teaching style and approach to lessons, with a subsequent improvement in the attitude and behaviour displayed by the pupils.
