| The dispute that often occurs in the development of palm-oil plantation concerning land providing. Land providing for palm-oil plantation is a basic problem of utmost importance. The problem had shown its great importance in lots of past periods, hence the government, private companies, and general community have established joint forum for settlement of land disputes. However, in recent years lots of companies and also the government were reluctant to present such cases as being important to be discussed. The situation led to the frequent disputes between traditional law community and palm-oil plantation company along with the government. The writer discovered that we had ignored the local wisdom created by our ancestors to prevent and solve agricultural conflicts by traditional institutions. Dayak’ traditions in West Borneo offer excellent virtue to solve the disputes without violence. A pithy and qualified solution, simultaneously maintaining harmonized relation between parties to the dispute. |
