Abstract
Using ocean waves as a power source to produce electricity has already common at a lot of country across the globe, but the application mostly done in the place that have some rapid flow so that rotary turbine can be used. Utilization of ocean waves in shallow waters could be done by a turbine that moving with sinusoidal motion that called as hydrofoil turbine. Utilization of this kind of turbine is still rare because the amount power it produced is small. To increase the power
that it produced, numerical simulation on hydrofoil turbine with some parameter wich are Reynolds number, foil amount and foil configuration is done. The research is done by simulation with 2D model in ANSYS fluent. The increase of foil amount is directly propotional with the power that each configuration of foil amount increase wich are horizontal and vertical. Oscillating motion of hydrofoil turbine producing thrust force. Efficiency of hydrofoil turbine motion is
influenced by thrust force coefficient and power coefficient that produced by hydrofoil turbine motion.
