Abstract
Background : Student Oral Case Analysis (SOCA) is one form of oral assessments that is still widely used in the Faculty of Medicine in Indonesia, including at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia implements SOCA as one of the prerequisites to graduate pre-clinical medical students since the last five years, therefore SOCA must have high validity and reliability. The assessment of SOCA in Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Atma Jaya Catholic University of
Indonesia still has a bias tendency because of the subjectivity aspect of the examiners. In addition, there is no reference that can guide examiners to grade students on every aspect. In order to increase reliability and reduce SOCA bias due to these matters, a comprehensive form of grading system of SOCA examination is
required to facilitate examiners and improve objectivity in providing SOCA assessments.
Method : The research was conducted qualitatively using Delphi method with Rate of Agreement (RoA) 70%. The subject of the research is the lecturer of Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia who actively examine SOCA at least for the last two years or had been in a SOCA organizing committee. There are three kinds of questionnaires that are used as research instruments to ask the opinions of the lecturers about things that need to be added to perfect the form of assessment of SOCA in Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia.
Results : From the results of the questionnaire calculation, all components have been approved to be added into the SOCA scoring rubric, but the determination of the weight of each component's assessment has not yet reached the agreement level. The weighting assessment of the first year of SOCA has been approved for inclusion in the SOCA scoring rubric, the second year only obtains 18.5% of approval while the third year reaches 65.5%.
Conclusion : All components of each year and weighting assessment of each component for the first year of SOCA have reached the approval level according to the Delphi method so that it can be incorporated into the SOCA assessment rubric in Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. The approval decision to determine weighting assessment for second and third year of SOCA still has not been reached thus they cannot be implemented nor listed in the assessment rubric.
