Abstract
Background : The changes that occur in brain ventricular morphometry is one of the changes that caused by several things such as growth, aging, and pathological states. Brain structural changes can be identified using measurements in regards to lateral ventricle, one of which is a linear measurement of the lateral ventricle of the brain that is correlated to the width of the cerebrum.
Methodology : Lateral ventricles were measured linearly using bifrontal ratio, bioccipital ratio and cella media ratio. The results are correlated to anteroposterior and transversal diameters. The samples are 100 people with a normal head-CT scans at Atma Jaya hospital from January 2016 to November 2017 with an age range of 20- 65 years. The data is processed using SPSS program version 23.
Results : In 54 samples of men and 46 female samples. The average value of bifrontal ratio, bioccipital ratio and cella media ratio is 0,24; 0,38; 0,19 . The correlation of
bifrontal ratio to AP is positive, weak and significant (r = 0.27). The correlation of bifrontal ratio to TD is negative, very weak and not significant (r = -0.16). The correlation of bioccipital ratio to AP was positive, very weak and not significant (r = 0.14). The correlation of bioccipital ratio to TD is negative, very weak and not significant (r = -0.08). The correlation of cella media ratio to AP was positive, very weak and not significant (r = 0.11) The correlation of cella media ratio to TD was positive, very weak and not significant (r = 0.021)
Conclusion : There is a significant correlation of bifrontal ratio to AP diameter.
